At Wiles Therapy for Kids, pediatric occupational therapists (OTs) work with children ages birth to 21 and their families to assist each child to reach their maximum potential and to function independently.
Our occupational therapists work to facilitate the skills required to function effectively, safely, and independently in home, community, and school settings. We evaluate the many skills required to complete tasks independently including motor skills, visual motor skills, visual processing, sensory integration, attention to task, executive functioning skills, and safety awareness. Each child receives an individualized evaluation and treatment plan. Our OTs collaborate with PT, ST, teachers, doctors, and other medical professionals.
Our occupational therapists are trained not only in facilitating self feeding, but also expanding a child's variety of food choices and diet. During occupational therapy we use result driven feeding programs that assess all underlying causes of feeding difficulties. We evaluate and treat the whole child including organ systems, muscles, sensory processing, behavior and learning, development, nutrition, and environment. Our goal is to increase comfort level with food by exploring in a playful, non stressful way!
